Jessica G. Sexton, M.Ed., LPC
Jessica specializes in anxiety, grief, parent support, relationship stress, emerging adulthood, neurodiversity, and difficult life transitions (school changes, career changes, marriage, etc.) Some may say it is a “calling”, but I was drawn to become a therapist even before I knew the word for it. Jessica believes that with the proper support we all can connect with our own emotions, self soothe through stress, communicate effectively, and find hope.
Jessica utilizes various therapeutic modalities including Mindfulness techniques, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family systems, as well as talk therapy with inspiration from both Dr. Carl Jung and Gestalt Therapy. As your counselor, Jessica will help you assess your patterns in order to help gain emotional awareness, self compassion, and empower yourself to overcome whatever is holding you back.
Jessica has now been in private practice since October 2017 working with a variety of ages and mental health concerns; with an emphasis working with clients 12 years and older. Jessica received her Masters of Education in Professional Counseling, Community Counseling from the University of Georgia in 2015. Jessica’s work experience includes: The Tree House Inc, Child Advocacy Center in Winder, Georgia and Avita Community Partners in Demorest, Georgia.
